Ozaukee Congregational Church was founded in 1983 by Rev. Dick Buchman, his wife Sandy, and a group of people looking to establish a congregational church in Ozaukee County. OCC’s first service was held September 17, 1983 at the American Legion in Cedarburg, which would be its home for the next year and a half. The OCC covenant, written by Rev. Buchman, was signed by 64 charter members on April 8, 1984, and on Christmas Eve 1984 OCC held its first service in the old St. John Lutheran sanctuary on Lakefield Road in Grafton, the facility it still occupies in 2026.
Today, OCC offers worship services, Christian education classes, community service opportunities, and fellowship gatherings where people can pursue faith and fellowship within the freedom of the congregational tradition. OCC embraces the hallmarks of congregationalism:

OCC is a member church of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches and the Wisconsin Congregational Association.
